After spending three years running luxury safari camps in Southern Africa – first in Botswana’s Makgadikgadi and then in Zambia in Livingstone and on the Lower Zambezi – I returned to the UK to manage the Africa team at a large travel company, but I couldn’t stay away for long, so I purchased a holiday home in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. Over the last two decades of visiting, I’ll never forget sky diving over Plettenberg Bay, riding an ostrich in Oudtshoorn or stroking a three-meter-long honeycomb eel, whilst diving at Rocktail Bay in the Maputaland Marine Reserve!

While I am now based in the UK, I spend most of my holidays in Africa, usually visiting several times a year. While I’m there, even on holiday, I always explore new areas and discover up-and-coming places to share with my travelers. The people, the service, the scenery, the wildlife, the cuisine, the diversity, the climate, the innovative hotels, safari lodges and camps, the wildlife guides, and the excellent value for money…South Africa’s list of perks is seemingly endless.

Not only are my visits to South Africa frequent, but my friends and network of connections in the travel industry there means that I am always aware of the latest news – hotels openings, new restaurants, the best boutiques, and adventure activities. For each client, I arrange an unusual surprise during their holiday, and because I know the owners and managers of the hotels and safari camps, my clients often get upgrades or receive special services. I love sharing my local knowledge with my clients to make their South Africa trip unique and completely unforgettable.
