Ms S

Baja Peninsula Guru

My father was born and raised in Mexico City and I’ve been in love with the country since my first visit as a child. Mexico is the most underrated wildlife destination on the planet; my personal highlights include visiting Isla Mujeres in the summer to swim with whale sharks and San Ignacio Lagoon for friendly gray whales, and watching a mother gray whale bring her calf to my boat in San Ignacio Lagoon the first time. In addition to epic wildlife spectacles, the culture, people and gastronomy keep drawing me back.

I’m a wildlife biologist and I spent years in the field studying animals before moving on to teaching and eventually joining the travel industry creating wildlife tours. This combination of expertise allows me to design unique experiences with an emphasis on nature and wildlife viewing. With combined degrees in Wildlife and Fisheries Science and a master’s degree in Biology, plus more than a decade of travel industry experience, I brings passion, enthusiasm and environmental stewardship expertise to each trip I craft for my clients. Travel changes people for the better, and I’ve dedicated my career, fieldwork, education and guiding to give others the resources to get out and experience the world around them.

After years of studying wildlife and their movements, I know when and where to travel for the best wildlife experiences in Baja and Mexico. Since I’ve experienced everything from rustic accommodations at research facilities to 5-star luxury properties, I can create itineraries to match a variety of travel styles and interests. I also guide 5-6 trips each year so know how to anticipate scheduling issues to best plan each day and the overall flow of a trip. My tours have been featured in a variety of publications including National Geographic Traveler.
